MINI POWER COMPANY

Mini Power Company is California Dance Company’s introductory competitive team for young dancers ages 4–6. Dancers explore the excitement of competitive dance while developing foundational jazz technique, learning choreography, building confidence, and gaining experience performing as part of a team. Mini Power Company is designed to introduce young dancers to teamwork, performance, and the commitment of being part of a dance company in a fun and supportive environment.

The Commitment – October-December: rehearsal is first week of each month. January-May: rehearsal is weekly.

Throughout the season, dancers will:

Attend the Audition Prep Workshop and audition.

Attend scheduled 30-minute choreography rehearsals monthly from October through December and weekly from January through May.

Participate in two out-of-town competitions.

Attend the one-day Driven Dance Intensive in August.

Perform in the Christmas Showcase, Spring Recital, and Company Showcase.

Participate in team bonding events, including the Team Sleepover, Friendsgiving, and Team Dinner/IP Rally.

Purchase the required team jacket.

Additional elective classes are encouraged. Fall and spring dance conventions and participation in The Nutcracker are optional but highly encouraged.
